Try free firstIf you want the best story on Candy Shorts rather than the hottest, the fantasy shelf is where I would start. The best Candy Shorts fantasy series are plot-led, priced at the regular rate, and short enough to finish on one month of Premium with tokens to spare. It is also the only category where my reasons for hesitating involve a death sentence and not a token counter.
What counts as fantasy on Candy
Fantasy is Candy’s official label for stories set somewhere other than the present: a castle court, an elven kingdom, an ancient empire, a world where memories get smuggled. It is a small tag, so it lacks the filler of the big ones. Most of the series lead with a mystery, a deadline or a forbidden bond, and the heat arrives behind the plot. Several also carry the Taboo tag, so the Taboo guide overlaps here.
Stakes that do not need the heat
Stakes that do not depend on the heat. In the synopses, touching the queen is punishable by death, a thief is kept alive by an elven princess, a memory smuggler meets a stranger who knows a name she never told anyone. When the plot already has a reason to keep going, the cliffhangers have real work to do.
Five fantasy series to unlock first
- NightWire: a memory smuggler lives a stranger’s most intimate night, and he knows a name she never told anyone. The top premise score in the tag, with the mystery up front.
- Sworn to the Queen: a guard, a bedchamber and a queen who keeps daring him, every night a death sentence.
- Trespasser of the Sunken Court: a mortal thief, an elven princess and a forbidden bond that threatens her crown.
- Vampire’s Lust: a vampire who plays with men and the one man she won’t let herself take. Push-pull, with the wanting doing most of the work.
- I Can See Through Everyone But Her: a pill, a ten-day clock and a doctor running the study. It leans higher on heat than the rest.
All five cost the regular rate, so the order matters less than the free episodes: watch two, then decide.

Costume drama, game show, dragon: free episodes only
Cleopatra and Caesar is drama-led and mild on heat, with an affair, a pregnancy and empire-versus-queen stakes. Unlock it only if that appeals, because it is the opposite of a quick thrill.
She’s not real is a game-show premise: fun if the free episodes play like a challenge, thin if you wanted a story to follow. Dragon Queen’s Dark Desire is a healer-and-patient setup in a fantasy costume, and the wording is openly sexual. The Fantasy tag set the scene there, not the temperature.
Why the price is the easy part
Hardly at all. Every series on this shelf is a five-episode, regular-rate series: two free episodes and three paid at 12 tokens, with no Creator surcharge and no marathon. Two of them fit inside one month of Premium. The only real cost decision is how many to unlock, not which one.
Even so, be honest about the plan. Premium renews automatically, so set a reminder if you pick a monthly one for a single series, and see what a series costs on each plan before you pay.
Questions people ask
What are the best fantasy series on Candy Shorts?
NightWire leads our scores, followed by Sworn to the Queen, I Can See Through Everyone But Her and Trespasser of the Sunken Court, with Vampire's Lust fifth. All five are regular-rate series with a real plot, and all but one sit at the gentle end of our heat scale. Check the grid above for the full order.
How much does a fantasy series cost to finish?
Three paid episodes at 12 tokens each, about a third of one month's 100. Every fantasy series we cover is a regular-rate five-episode series, with no Creator surcharge and no marathon, so one month of Premium comfortably covers two of them.
Are the first fantasy episodes free?
Yes. Episode 1 plays without an account, and episode 2 is free once you sign up for a free login. Unlike the Spicy tier, nothing in this category hides its synopsis from guests, so you can read the premise and watch two episodes before you pay.
Is the Fantasy tag the same as low heat?
Not always. Most of these series read as romance-led or mystery-led, so they rate a 2 or 3 on our heat scale, but the tag only sets the scene. Dragon Queen's Dark Desire uses openly sexual wording and rates a 4. Read the synopsis, then watch the free episodes.
