Candy AI video is several different things sharing one word, and only one of them is free: episodes 1 and 2 of Candy Shorts. Everything you generate yourself needs Premium and tokens, and Candy does not publish what a clip costs. The Shorts do have a price, 12 tokens a paid episode, so they are the only video I can put a number on.

I searched “candy ai video” like a normal person and found that Candy has more kinds of video than I have excuses. I sorted them so you can decide which deserves your tokens. A note on method: this is Candy’s help center and public pages, re-checked on October 15, 2026. Premium features sit behind a login, so I quote them and mark the gaps.

Candy AI video: Shorts, generated clips and Live Action

Type What it is Free? Cost
Candy Shorts Pre-written vertical series, under two minutes an episode Episodes 1 and 2 12 tokens per paid episode (30 on Creator series)
Generated clip A short animated clip made from an image you generate No, Premium Tokens; price not published
Build Your Video Pick character, action, location and partner from presets Not on the free list Not published
Live Action Interactive video menus on selected characters, mobile No, Premium Some actions free, some tokens; not published
Candy Roulette Live-style video chat with AI characters Not stated 5 tokens per minute

How the generated clips work, and what Candy leaves vague

In Candy’s help center, the route is two steps. You generate an image in chat and, if the image suits conversion, Candy offers to turn it into a clip. Candy describes the result as “simple, animated sequences”, not “full-scale animations”. An older article says Candy does not generate video from scratch. A newer one describes Build Your Video: choose the character, action, location and partner from presets, press generate, and find the result under My Generations.

My favorite line says the final result “may vary from the selected options”, which is also how I would describe my plans for this review. Candy also calls some video features beta, not available for every character or account, and lists an insufficient token balance among the reasons a feature may not work. The image generator page covers the first step.

Live Action is the odd one out. Candy describes it as interactive: full-screen transitions and an action menu on selected characters, opened from a joystick icon, where some actions are free and some cost tokens. The help article says it is Premium only and, for now, mobile only. Its list of characters includes DarkAngel666, and a Shorts lead goes by the same name; her series are on her cast page.

What Candy AI video costs in tokens

Two per-use prices are public. Shorts cost 12 tokens per paid episode, or 30 on Creator series. Candy Roulette, the video chat, costs 5 tokens a minute in its help article, which means a month’s 100 tokens covers 20 minutes of it and nothing else. Who can use Roulette, the article does not say.

For generated clips, Build Your Video and Live Action, Candy publishes nothing, and the numbers on forums contradict each other, so none appear here. The practical way to learn the price is to spend one clip and watch the balance. Do that after you have decided to keep Premium: Candy refunds a subscription only within 24 hours and only if you used 20 tokens or fewer. The calculator prices Shorts, the one video I can fill in.

Candy AI video versus Candy Shorts: where the tokens should go

Shorts are finished, scripted and priced. A standard five-episode series has three paid episodes, so finishing one is three payments of 12 tokens, and you know the bill before you start. A generated clip is an AI girlfriend video starring your own character, with a price tag I cannot read. If you want a story, Shorts are the safer spend; if you want your own character in motion, that is the generator’s job. Read is Candy Shorts worth it for the full maths, and Candy AI tokens for the pool they share.

The route Candy builds runs from Shorts to the lead’s chat to clips of your own characters. Each step is real, and each draws on the same 100 tokens, which is how a free episode becomes a budgeting problem.

Is Candy AI video worth paying for?

Pay for Premium if the free episodes left you wanting episode 3; Shorts are the part with a verifiable price, and the 12-month plan ($3.99 a month, $47.88 billed once) makes the tokens cheapest. Treat generated video as a bonus until you have seen what one clip costs. Stay on the free episodes if you only wanted a look, and skip the “free full episode” downloads, which are fakes or malware bait.

The drawbacks are plain. Candy flags some video features as beta. Prices are unpublished. Everything renews automatically, so set a reminder. Saving a video needs a browser workaround, and commercial use is banned.

Questions people ask

What is Candy AI Live Action?

Candy's help center calls Live Action a Premium-only, token-gated feature: immersive adult video experiences for selected characters, with full-screen transitions and interactive menus, opened from a joystick icon. Some actions are free and some cost tokens. Guests and free users cannot use it, and the article, last updated in March, says it is mobile-only for now. It is not Shorts.

Does Candy AI generate video?

Yes, on Premium, in limited form. Candy's help center says video starts from an image: you generate one in chat, and if it suits conversion Candy offers to turn it into a short clip. A newer article describes Build Your Video, which uses preset choices. Candy calls some video features beta, so availability varies by character and account.

Is Candy Shorts the same as Candy AI video?

No. Shorts are pre-written, scripted series with pre-made leads, under two minutes an episode and separate from your chats; you watch them. Generated clips are made on demand from images. Shorts have published token prices (12 or 30); generated clips do not. Both draw on one shared Premium token pool.

How much does Candy AI video cost?

Candy publishes token prices for Shorts only: episodes 1 and 2 free, then 12 tokens per paid episode, 30 on Creator series. For generated clips, Build Your Video and Live Action it lists no price, and forum figures conflict, so I give none. Premium brings 100 tokens a month, from $3.99 a month on 12 months.

Are there free Candy AI videos?

Yes: Shorts episode 1 without an account and episode 2 with a free account, on nearly every series. The free-user list in Candy's help center has no video generation. Sites offering free full episodes or downloads are re-uploads, fakes or malware bait; the legitimate free route is the free episodes on Candy.

Can I save Candy AI videos?

Candy's help center gives a browser workaround. On a computer, right-click the video and choose Save video as. On a phone, press and hold the video for two to three seconds and tap Download video. Candy says download permission depends on your browser, device and Premium features, and it bars commercial use of generated content.
