Candy AI tokens are the second meter on your bill. The plan is the first meter, and it buys unlimited text chat. Tokens are the second: 100 a month that pay for the extras. Chatting costs none, while images, video, voice, private content packs and paid Shorts episodes cost some, and Candy shows a guest the price of only one of those.
I now measure everything in episodes. I have started pricing sandwiches in Shorts, and the sandwich is losing. This page keeps the ledger: where tokens come from, where they go, what a Shorts episode costs, and the two things Candy leaves open, top-up prices and what happens to tokens when you cancel.
Candy AI tokens explained: one allowance, two meters
Premium splits what you do into two buckets. Chat is the first: unlimited text messages, no tokens spent. Tokens are the second: a fixed allowance for everything else. Candy’s help center puts it plainly: tokens are credits for extra capabilities, they are limited, and regular chatting does not cost any.
When the tokens run out, chat stays open and the extras ask for more. A free account has no tokens on its help-center list at all; what it gets instead is covered in is Candy AI free. Tokens are also personal: the terms say they cannot be transferred to another account, traded in or exchanged for money.
Where tokens come from
| Source | Tokens | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Premium plan | 100 a month | Added on your renewal date; yearly plans get them monthly |
| Premium Plus | 330 a month | No public price found |
| Top-up packs | Not published | Guests are redirected to sign-in |
| Referral | 200 each | Friend must subscribe to Premium; only Premium users can invite |
| Bonus promotions | Varies | At Candy’s discretion, per the terms |
The line that surprises people sits in that first row. A 12-month plan does not hand you a year of tokens on day one. Candy’s help center says yearly subscribers receive 100 tokens each month, on the day of the month they subscribed, and are not charged again until a full year has passed. You pay for the year once and collect the tokens in twelve installments.
The referral deal pays 200 tokens to you and your friend, which also means explaining to a friend what my “research” is. I have decided the tokens are not worth the conversation. It only pays once the friend subscribes to Premium, so it rewards people who are already paying. Token generators, hack sites and “free tokens” downloads are fakes or malware bait; the legitimate routes are the ones in the table.
What tokens buy
Candy’s help center lists the uses. Here is that list, with what I could and could not confirm for each:
- Candy Shorts episodes: 12 tokens on a standard series, 30 on a Candy Creators series. This is the one price I could verify, because it is shown on each episode.
- Image generation: a token use on Candy’s list, although a free account gets one image without spending any.
- Video generation: after you generate an image in chat, Candy offers to convert it to video when the image suits it.
- Voice messages: listening to one costs tokens.
- Voice calls (beta): also on the token list.
- Creating a custom AI: also on the token list, although a free account gets one custom character without spending any.
- My Private Content packs: found under the character’s profile once you open the chat window.
- Exclusive Characters: limited-time characters, usually tied to promotions or sales, unlocked for a set number of tokens (the help article’s example is 200) and typically bundled with a private content pack of images and videos.
Apart from the Shorts, I found no official per-use price, and the numbers that circulate on forums contradict each other, so none appear here. The practical way to learn a price is to spend a token and watch the counter, which is how I have learned most things about myself.
Candy Shorts tokens: what an episode and a series cost
Shorts are where the arithmetic is easy. A standard five-episode series has three paid episodes at 12 tokens each, so finishing it takes 36. One month’s allowance covers two of them with 28 left. A Candy Creators series, the licensed AI twins of adult stars, charges 30 per paid episode, so five episodes cost 90 and leave you 10 for the rest of the month.
| Series | Tokens | Share of a month | 12 months | 3 months | 1 month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard series (5 episodes) 3 paid × 12 tokens | 36 | 36% | $1.44 | $3.24 | $5.04 |
| Candy Creators series (5 episodes) 3 paid × 30 tokens | 90 | 90% | $3.59 | $8.09 | $12.59 |
| Longest we cover: YES MA'AM 25 paid × 12 tokens | 300 | 300% | $11.97 | $26.97 | $41.97 |
Dollar figures are the plan price spread over its 100 monthly tokens (regular prices, checked October 15, 2026), not a separate charge.
Across the public catalog there are 534 paid episodes, and unlocking every one costs 7,164 tokens, which is well over five years of monthly allowances. Nobody finishes the catalog on one plan, so choose series, not seasons. Some are long: YES MA’AM has kept adding episodes, and each new one costs the same 12 tokens. For which series earn their tokens, see is Candy Shorts worth it.
Shorts spend from the same pool as everything else, so the calculator is the quickest way to see what a series does to your month.

Why Premium still asks you to buy tokens
This is the question Candy’s help center has a whole article for. Your subscription includes 100 tokens a month, added on your renewal date. When they are gone, Candy prompts you to buy more if you want images, video, voice or private content packs. Chat stays open the whole time.
Premium is “premium” the way a cinema ticket is premium: the seat is yours, the popcorn is extra. If you cannot see your monthly tokens, check the renewal date first, since the allowance is tied to it, then contact Candy’s support team.
Top-up packs: the price nobody publishes
The help center says you can buy more tokens at candy.ai/tokens. Opened as a guest, that page redirected me to sign-in, so pack prices are not public and I will not guess them. The terms mention token packages and “non-subscription” purchases, so packs exist. Candy takes the same payment methods for them as for plans: cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, crypto and bank transfer, depending on location.
The one official hint is the referral article, which calls 200 tokens a $20 value. That implies about $0.10 a token, a marketing valuation and not a price list. If it is anywhere near representative, a standard episode bought with top-up tokens costs roughly $1.20 and a Creator episode about $3.00, against $0.48 for a standard episode from a 12-month allowance. Read it as a rule of thumb: the allowance is the cheap token and a top-up is the expensive one.
Refunds are stricter on tokens than on plans. Candy refunds a token package only within 24 hours of payment, only if you have not used the tokens, and only for card payments. Plan prices are in what Candy AI costs.
Do Candy AI tokens expire? Two official answers
Candy’s terms say that after your subscription ends, remaining tokens expire, and that they will not carry over or be refunded. A help-center article says cancelling does not delete your tokens: your balance stays on the account when you return to the free service and works again when you re-subscribe. As of October 15, 2026 both pages are live and they cannot both be right.
I read both twice. They are both confident and both official, and Candy has not said which one wins. I also could not find whether unused tokens roll over from one month to the next while you stay subscribed; the help center says the tokens reset monthly with your renewal date, which does not promise a rollover. Until someone picks a winner, I treat tokens like leftovers in a shared fridge: eat them before the label says otherwise.
How I would spend the first batch of tokens
- Watch the free episodes first. They cost no tokens, and most series give you episodes 1 and 2 free.
- Unlock one standard series. Three paid episodes, 36 tokens, and you learn what a Short is worth to you at the cheapest honest price.
- Try one other feature with what is left. Make an image or listen to a voice message, then watch the counter to learn that feature’s real price, since Candy does not publish it.
- Skip top-ups until you know your pattern. If you keep running dry on a monthly plan, the 12-month plan has the cheapest tokens.
- Spend before the period ends. Until the terms and the help center agree, unused tokens are the one thing I would not bank on.
Start with the free episodes, and when the first cliffhanger gets you, look at the Premium plans.

Questions people ask
What are Candy AI tokens used for?
Tokens pay for extras on top of unlimited chat: paid Candy Shorts episodes, image and video generation, creating a custom AI, voice messages, voice calls (beta), My Private Content packs and exclusive characters. Ordinary text chat on Premium costs no tokens. I could verify a price for Shorts episodes only; Candy does not show the other costs to guests.
Why am I asked to buy tokens when I already have Premium?
Premium includes 100 tokens a month, added on your renewal date. Once they are used up, Candy asks you to buy more for features such as images, video, voice and private content packs, while chat stays available without extra tokens. If you cannot see your monthly tokens, check your renewal date and contact Candy support.
How many tokens does a Candy Shorts episode cost?
Free episodes cost nothing, usually episodes 1 and 2. Paid episodes cost 12 tokens on standard series and 30 on Candy Creators series. A five-episode standard series has three paid episodes, so 36 tokens to finish, and a Creator series is 90. Longer series cost more, and the price is shown on each episode.
How many tokens does Premium include?
100 a month on every Premium plan, added on your renewal date. On the 12-month plan they still arrive monthly, on the day of the month you subscribed, not as one yearly lump. Premium Plus lists 330 a month, but I found no public price for it, so I cannot say whether it is better value.
Do Candy AI tokens expire?
Candy's own pages disagree. Its terms say remaining tokens expire after your subscription ends and are not refunded. A help-center article says cancelling does not delete them and the balance stays on your account. I could not confirm month-to-month rollover either. Spend your tokens before the billing period ends and check the current terms.
Does Candy.AI offer free tokens?
Not on the free tier; the free-user help article lists none. Premium includes 100 a month, and a referral program pays 200 tokens to you and your friend once the friend subscribes to Premium. Candy's terms also mention bonus-token promotions at its own discretion. Token generators and hack sites are scams or malware bait.
How much do Candy AI tokens cost?
Top-up pack prices are not public: candy.ai/tokens sends logged-out visitors to the sign-in page. The only official hint is a help article calling 200 tokens a $20 value, about $0.10 a token, which is a marketing figure rather than a price list. Inside Premium, tokens come with the plan, from $3.99 a month on the 12-month plan.
