Candy AI vs OurDream AI is a fight between two meters. Candy counts extras in tokens, OurDream counts them in dreamcoins, and the exchange rate between the two is whatever the next generate button says, which is why I wrote a page instead of a sentence. The short version: Candy is cheaper on both plan lengths and has Shorts, and OurDream is the one that tells you what its video and voice cost.

A note on sources. Everything about OurDream here comes from its own home page and help center, read in October 2026. I did not pay for OurDream, and I judge Candy by its documented prices and its free tier, so image quality is out of scope on purpose. Prices, limits and refund rules I can compare, and I do.

Prices are US dollars as each service listed them in October 2026, and taxes or your region can change what checkout shows. Do not read 1,000 against 100 as a ten-to-one ratio. The two currencies are priced differently, which the allowance section below explains.

Which is cheaper, Candy AI or OurDream AI?

Candy, on both lengths. The 12-month plan costs $47.88 for the year against $119.88 for OurDream’s yearly plan, well under half. The 1-month plan is $13.99 against $19.99. Candy’s 1-month card also showed an introductory first month of $9.99 when I checked, and I could not confirm whether that is a promo or depends on your region, so read the card before paying.

OurDream’s yearly plan adds a sweetener: an extra 1,000 dreamcoins when you first subscribe, so you start with 2,000. Candy’s yearly plan hands out 100 tokens each month rather than all at once. Neither service shows top-up prices where a guest can read them, and OurDream says you need an active subscription before you can buy more dreamcoins.

The plan price is not the whole bill on either side. Candy’s 1-month plan gives you the dearest tokens, and Candy Creators series cost 30 tokens per paid episode. The detailed monthly maths for Candy is in what Candy AI costs.

What a month’s allowance actually buys

This is where OurDream earns respect. Its help center publishes a coin price list, so you can do the sums before paying:

  • Chat: free for subscribers, though its Genius models still charge 1 dreamcoin per response.
  • Images: 10 dreamcoins for two standard images, or 5 for an image made inside a chat.
  • Video: 100 dreamcoins per five seconds of standard video, up to 60 seconds.
  • Voice calls: 50 dreamcoins per minute.
  • Community packs: 250, 750 or 1,000 dreamcoins to unlock one character’s library.

Spend all 1,000 monthly dreamcoins on a single thing and you get roughly 200 standard images, or ten five-second clips, or 20 minutes of calls. You cannot have all three, which is the point of a shared pool.

Candy’s 100 tokens also run on a shared pool. Shorts are the one price I can show you: 12 tokens per paid episode, 30 on Creator series. For images, video and voice, Candy lists them among token uses but publishes no per-use price that I could find, so I cannot give you a rate, and anyone who quotes one is guessing. That is OurDream’s honest edge: you can plan the spend first. With Candy you learn the price by spending.

Which one has a real free tier?

Candy’s free tier is small and complete. A free account gets 5 chat messages in total, one custom character and one image, and the Shorts add the free episodes: episode 1 plays without an account, and episode 2 needs a free login. You can see what Candy produces before paying a cent. The itemized version is in is Candy AI free.

OurDream’s sign-up is free, and its home page says to join free, but the help center describes a tighter deal. Free chats cost 1 dreamcoin per message, it says it does not currently offer free dreamcoins, and you need a subscription to generate images and videos. The only free-coin routes it names are referrals and events in its Discord. I could not find how many coins a new account starts with, so I cannot tell you how long free chatting lasts.

Which has better images and video?

I cannot tell you, and I would distrust any page that ranks them without paying for both. What I can compare is the access and the rules.

Both services put video generation behind a paid plan, and OurDream puts images there too. Its pages list realistic and anime looks, and a standard video can run up to 60 seconds. It also does not allow uploading reference photos, which its help center ties to deepfake risk. That is a real limit if you wanted to feed it a picture, and a sensible one.

The difference is what you can test. Candy lets a free account generate one image, so you can judge its output before paying. OurDream needs a subscription before it generates anything, so until then your evidence is its own gallery. That is a reason to try Candy’s free image first, then decide whether OurDream is worth a month. It is not proof that Candy’s images are better.

The fine print: refunds, cancelling and what you keep

Heads-up: Candy’s plans renew automatically, and on neither service does cancelling refund you. If you want your money back, contact support separately and read the rule below first.

  • Refunds, Candy: only within 24 hours of paying, only if you used 20 tokens or fewer, and only for card payments.
  • Refunds, OurDream: it says it cannot refund a product that has used more than 25% of its amount. A monthly plan is not refundable once the coins are used up, an annual plan may get a full or partial refund, and crypto payments cannot be refunded. Requests go through the Request Help button on your profile, with support saying it will pick the request up within 24 to 48 hours.
  • After you cancel, Candy: Premium stays active until the period ends, and the terms and the help center disagree on whether leftover tokens survive. Candy AI tokens covers it.
  • After you cancel, OurDream: access runs to the end of the billing period and unused coins stay until then. Reactivating creates a new subscription and does not restore old coins. Your images and videos blur until you resubscribe, and community packs only open with an active subscription.
  • Payments: OurDream does not take PayPal. Candy’s billing line on your statement says EverAI, and the EverAI charge explains how to recognize it.

The OurDream point worth underlining is the blur, because it reads like renting access to what you generate. I could not find a public answer for what Candy does with your generated images after you stop paying, so check before you build a library on either.

Where Candy Shorts tips the balance

OurDream has a community library of characters and packs. Candy has Shorts, and that is the feature OurDream has no answer to. There are 145 public series with 291 free episodes, each under two minutes, in a phone-shaped vertical player. A standard series costs about a third of one month’s 100 tokens to finish, so it is a cheap way to test what Candy’s paid side is like.

I will say the awkward part plainly: if you do not care about Shorts, this section does nothing for you, and the case for Candy rests on price alone. Whether the series earn their tokens is covered in is Candy Shorts worth it.

Verdict: who should pick which

Pick Candy AI if you want Candy Shorts, if you want the lower plan price, or if you would like to see a free image and a free episode before paying. The 12-month plan is the cheap route, and it comes with a bigger bill on day one.

Pick OurDream AI if images, video and voice calls are the whole point, you like seeing the coin price of each before you spend, and you accept that you pay for a subscription before generating anything.

Pick neither yet if you have not used a free tier. Candy’s takes a few minutes and costs nothing. For the wider field, including options with real free plans, see Candy AI alternatives.

Questions people ask

Is Candy AI better than OurDream AI?

It depends on what you pay for. Candy is cheaper on both plan lengths and is the only one with Candy Shorts. OurDream publishes what its coins buy, including video and voice calls, and puts images, video and calls in one pool. I have not compared paid output from both, so I cannot call one better on image quality. Compare the free tiers first.

Which is cheaper, Candy AI or OurDream AI?

Candy, on sticker price. Its 12-month plan is $3.99 a month ($47.88 billed yearly) against OurDream's $9.99 a month ($119.88 billed yearly). Monthly, Candy is $13.99 against $19.99. Both sell extras on top, and neither publishes top-up prices where a guest can read them, so the real bill depends on what you generate.

Which has better images?

I cannot say, and anyone ranking them without paying is guessing. OurDream lists realistic and anime styles and prices images at 10 dreamcoins for two. Candy's Premium lists 18+ image and video generation, and a free account gets one image. You can judge one Candy image before paying. OurDream needs a subscription before it generates anything.

Which one has a real free tier?

Candy's is small but usable: 5 chat messages in total, one custom character, one image and the free Shorts episodes. OurDream's sign-up is free, but its help center says free chat costs a dreamcoin per message, it offers no free dreamcoins, and images and video need a subscription. I could not find a starting balance.

How do refunds compare between Candy AI and OurDream AI?

Candy refunds a card-paid subscription only within 24 hours and only if you used 20 tokens or fewer. OurDream says it cannot refund a product that has used more than 25% of its amount, and monthly plans are not refundable once the coins are used up. Annual plans may get a full or partial refund. Crypto payments cannot be refunded.
